A Word About Our Fees
At our initial meeting, we discuss the nature and extent of the
work anticipated. We will make our initial analysis of the problems and their
probable resolutions, the scope of our undertaking, and the financial basis upon
which we will represent you. The terms of our engagement are set forth in a letter
to you.
The nature of our representation controls the fee structure. Our fees may be fixed,
hourly, a percentage of a recovery, a blend of hourly and percentage, set by statute,
or part of an annual retainer. When we accept your matter, we want you to be comfortable
with how you will be billed and how you will pay for our services.
Confidentiality
Staff Members are under an obligation of confidentiality. What you tell us is
done so in confidence and we respect that confidence. Each staff member recognizes
their obligation to you, the client, and signs a confidentiality pledge upon employment.
Conflicts of Interest
We do our best to avoid conflicts of interest. At times we have
been asked to represent parties involved in the same problem at the same time.
We will avoid any representation that implies a conflict of interest. We will
provide a "second opinion" if requested.
